About SMS Broadcasting

The Skyview Broadcasting and Media Production program was launched in Fall 2009. It is a semester-long enrichment class open to 7th and 8th graders designed to introduce students to the world of modern news production. Students are exposed to skills such as digital video editing, camera operation, audio engineering, interview techniques, and advertising concepts. Broadcasting students contribute to and produce a weekly Skyview News show that is viewed by Skyview students and published online.

Broadcasting Lab
The Broadcasting and Media Production program is housed in the Broadcasting Lab connected to the Library. The lab is equipped with Mac Mini workstations for production and editing. We also have a small studio with camera gear, lighting, and audio equipment.
